About Dorothy Royle

https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/LCPX-S1N

The Heald-Chaffee Genealogy incorrectly gives Dorothy's surname as Andross. (This is another spelling of the name Andrews/Adrus). The Hale and Andrews family were allied families.

They may have arrived on the Encrease (Increase). The Encrease did sail to New England in 1635, but I have not found evidence to show they were passengers.

NOTE - The wife of John Heath was named Dorothy. There are 2 last names shown which could indicate that he possibly had more than one wife, or that one name is incorrect. If there were more than 2 wives there is no indication as to the mother of the children. The date of birth of children listed as that of John and Dorothy Heald have birth dates ranging from 1620 to 1660 which is unlikely. Could some be the children of John2? Or is one the maiden name of Dorothy and one the name of a previous husband?

"Dorothy, 'the widow Heald', was listed as a land holder in 1665 with 6 lots of about 161 acres total in the north quarter of Concord. She died 29 October 1694 at Dedham. How she happaned to die in Dedham is hard to explain. None of her children are known to have lived there. The record would seem to apply to her, as no other person of similar name has been identified. Usually deaths were recorded where the person lived so it would seem she must have been living there during her last days."
