About Daniel Avery Whedon, Rev.
A graduate of the Wesleyan University, at Middletown; presiding elder of the Chenango (N. Y.) district of the Methodist conference; transferred to the southern New England conference and stationed at Providence, R. I.; delegate to the ecumenical conference at London in 1880; trustee of Wesleyan University; a voluminous and impressive author and long regarded as one of the ablest writers of Methodism. A writer in Zion's Herald (Boston) said that a characteristic picture of him "should have him standing with the Discipline in his hand, bringing round a conference to his point of view."
