Daniel came from Stuttgart, Wurtenburg, Germany. "Daniel came South from Macedonia Township, Northampton Co., PA." We have not been able to find a record of when his famiily came to America. Daniel had 2 sons, Nicholas, b. about 1736, and Philip, b. about 1738, both Tories, who died at the Battle of Ramsour's Mill, on the edge of Lincolnton, NC, June 20, 1780. The oath they took on landing at Philadelphia "was a rigid oath, and they did not see proper to break it." (Rucker)
