Daniel Lasher

Daniel was the son of John Philip Lasher and Elizabeth Magley. He married Nellie Figert on arch 8, 1899. They were the parents of Dan, Earl, Alice, and Ruth.

April 24, 1940 - Carroll Daily - Dan Lasher, 65 of Lidderdale, died of heart disease at 2:15 Tuesday afternoon at the McVay Hospital in Lake, City. He had been ill all winter and was taken to the hospital a week before his death. Mr. Lasher, a director of the R.E.A. and of the Lidderdale Telephone Company, was a township trustee for several years and a county supervisor for one term. Funeral services will be at his home at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, with the Rev. Ray Weakland of the Christian Church of Lake City officiating. Burial will be beside his wife in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The body was brought to his home this morning from the Barber Funeral Home in Lake City.

Mr. Lasher was born Sept. 8, 1874, three miles north and a halt mile east of Lidderdale, on the farm where he spent his entire life. His parents, John P. and Elizabeth Lasher, came to Carroll County from New York and settled on that farm in 1871. On March 8, 1899, he married Nellie Figert, who died in 1929.

Two sons and two daughters, Dan Lasher Jr., who lives at home, Earl Lasher of Lake City, Mrs. Clair McIntyre (Alice) of Sac City, and Mrs. Ruth Hettinger of Bagley survive him. A brother, John J. Lasher of Letcher, S.D., and seven grandchildren also survive him.

His parents, who celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary before their deaths, his wife, and one brother preceded him in death.
