Dame Margaret Norton

Margaret Warde was the daughter of Sir Roger Warde, Knight, and wife Joan Tunstall. Her date of birth is not known but is estimated to be c.1459. She died on September 3, 1520, at Wath, Yorkshire, England.

Margaret Warde married Sir John Norton, Knight. He was the son of Sir John Norton, Knight, and wife Joan Pigot. He was also known as John Conyers.

Daughter of Sir Roger Warde and Joan Tunstall. Granddaughter of Sir Thomas Tunstall and Eleanor FitzHugh, Sir Roger Warde and Joan Markenfield.

She was the wife of Sir John Norton, the son and heir to Sir John Norton and Joan Pigot.

They had two sons and three daughters;

“Sir Roger de Ward, Knight, married [Elinor, daughter to Sir Thomas Constable, Knight,] Joan Tunstall, and had issue, Christopher, who succeeded him; Simon, who died without issue; Margaret, married to Sir John Cogniers, Knight, alias Norton, of Norton; she died 1520, and lies at Warke; Robert, John, and Elizabeth died young.
