Disambiguation

There is a burial notice dated 14 Dec 1616 in the register at Maidstone, Kent, for "Glover, Ann, wid.".[6] This is not the same person as the subject of this profile who died in December 1612 and was buried beside her husband (as requested in her Will) at St Stephen Coleman on 15th December 1616.

The wife of William Glover was originally shown as Anne Goverard but as the record for the marriage of Wm Glover and An 'Garrard' in 1578 shows that marriage was at St Mary Prescot in Lancashire, Anne Goverard has been amended to reflect the actual/correct marriage and lnab for Anne [7] the actual record reads - 16 November 1578 at St Mary, Prescot, Lancashire Wm Glover and An Garrard - there are also baptisms for children of William Glover in both Childwall (about 7 miles from Prescot) and Huyton by Roby (about 3 miles from Prescot) between 1578-1598.

When William wrote his will on 17 October 1603 he only identified his married 'daughter Roberts' (plus her husband and their daughter Ann) - his unmarried offspring were just listed as 'my six children now living'.[4]

When Ann wrote her will on 25 Nov 1612 she named her children in much more detail including daughter Alice "Burradell" (following the convention of naming her married daughters by their married name).[5]
