They were booked for proclamation at at Newlands in Peeblesshire on 21 October 1735, and at Eddleston there on 25 October 1735. The marriage booking at Newlands reads as follows: "Mr Alexander Robertson minr of the Gospel at Eddleston, & Christian Paton Daur to Mr Stephen Paton minr of the Gospel at Newlands, gave up their names etc married at Newlands by Mr Alexander Walker Novr 14th."
