About Charles Coppage, Jr.

Not the same as Charles Coppedge. This Charles is the 2nd oldest son of Charles Coppedge Sr. and Lucy Lunsford Coppedge.[1]

Charles was executor of his father's will (Charles Coppedge Sr.) along with his brother William, will is dated May 13, 1750 and proved August 13, 1750. Witnessed by Samuel Blackwell and Moses Lunsford.

His own will, dated 21 May and proved 9 Oct. 1786 named Exrs. wife Mary Ann, Moses Lunceford, Jr., Meredith Mahains, & Wm. Yerby; Witnesses, Wm. & Mary Yerby;

He married

  • (1) probably Judith Dameron or Taylor, widow of his cousin John in 1746; the close association of Coppedges and Taylors began with this Charles;
  • (2) 29 July 1763 Mary Ann Edwards, probably a widow. She was mother of only the last 2 c.
