Funeral services for Cordie Scranton, 68, were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Ward Funeral Home of Pleasant Hill with Rev. Joe Maynard officiating and burial was in Crescent Heights Cemetery. Donna Hobbs and Betty Capps sang. Pallbearers were Francis Sheppard, J. L. Laugharn, Tommy Crowder, Ross Lemons, Harry Hanke and Nick Smith. Mrs. Scranton passed away suddenly at the home of a brother-in-law, Walter Gray Tuesday morning at 9. She was born Nov. 24, 1895, a daughter of William and Alice Turnbaugh Windmiller. She was a member of the Methodist church of Pleasant Hill and attended the local country schools. On August 30, 1912 at Pittsfield she married Jesse Gilbert Scranton who survives. Surviving besides her son, Roy, of Pleasant Hill are two brothers, Jake Windmiller of Barry; Russell Windmiller of Pleasant Hill; five sisters, Mrs. Pearlie Gray of Louisiana, Mo.; Mrs. Lizzie VaLue of Pleasant Hill; Mrs. Jessie Beneze of Alton, Mrs. Alice Wright of Nebo and Mrs. Elzona Thomas of Barry and one half-sister, Mrs. Ethel Bray of Blackfoot, Idaho. Three grandchildren, Allen Scranton, Mrs. Gordon (Marie) Clendenny and Thomas Scranton, all of Pleasant Hill and four great grandchildren, Timothy and Tracy Scranton, Judy and Michele Clendenny, all of Pleasant Hill.
