About Capt. William Colenso Drummond
Son of Colonel John and Jessie Drummond (nee McLeod). Husband of Maud Annie Drummond (nee Hansaid), married 1909, of 42, Swinburn St., Dannevirke. Father of Jessie Hansard Drummond b1910. Prominent competitor at the NZ Rifle Association's meetings. According to his WW1 file, William Colenso Drummond was married in Dannevirke and his only child was born in Westport before the War. He was shell-shocked in France and invalided back to NZ – his discharge address was given as his father’s address in Dannevirke where he died in 1918.
