Second son of three boys and two girls born to Abigail Rowe and John Adams. His brothers were Moses and Joel and sisters were Anna and Lucy.
His younger brother, Lieutenant Joel Adams was father to Private Job Adams Sr., who was the father of Elias Adams, the Utah Pioneer.
Simeon was in the Connecticut Militia, serving in the French and Indian War.
He was married to Susanna Underwood, 28 January 1756/66.

Simeon Adams was a soldier of the French war; captured by the Indians and taken to Canada; redeemed and returned home ; renewed his services, again taken prisoner, and again redeemed. He removed his family to Marlboro in 1782.
