Bruce Hackworth

ADA - Bruce Hackworth, 71, of Rt. 3, was pronounced dead at 11:15 a.m. Monday in a local physician's office. Mr. Hackworth was traveling north of Ada when his auto left the road. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

A retired farmer, Mr. Hackworth was born July 24, 1891, in Kentucky. His parents were Tom and Anna (Stone) Hackworth. His first wife, Gracie Blankenship Hackworth, died in 1957. He later married Ellen Brewer, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Ellis and Amos, both of Rt. 3, and Milo of Rt. 2; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Snider of Cridersville; a brother, Cash of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Ducie Spradlin of Prestonburg, Ky.; two half-brothers, Verne of Homer, Mich., and Raymond of Detroit; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A daughter is deceased.

Mr. Hackworth was a member of Pentecostal Church of God, where services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Harold Cook will officiate and burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today and until one hour before services.
