• By marriage Pakington was well connected: his wife's brothers-in-law included Robert Cheseman*, George Rolle* and Robert Dacres, The Privy Councillor, while his brother's father-in-law was (Sir) John Baldwin*. .... Pakington died at Hampton Lovett on 21 Aug. 1551, five days after making his will, and was buried in the chapel of St. Anne in the parish church despite his own wish to be interred in the chancel. He had made provision for his wife and his daughters, Bridget, wife of John Lyttleton*, and Ursula, wife of William Scudamore, and left numerous small bequests to kinsmen, friends and charities. Pakington's sons had pre-deceased him without issue so that he was succeeded by his nephew Thomas Pakington.

JOHN, of the Inner Temple, constituted chirographer of the Common Pleas in the 24th of HENRY VIII., during life, and elected, 11 HENRY VIII., Lent reader; and in the 20th of the same reign, treasurer of the society of the Inner Temple, in which year he had a grant from the King, "that he, the said John Pakington, for the time to come, shall have full liberty during his life, to wear his hat in his presence and his successors, or any other persons whatsoever, and not be uncovered on any occasion or cause whatsoever, against his will and good liking; also that he shall not be appointed, called, or compelled to take the order of knighthood, or degree, state, or order of a baron of the Exchequer, sergeant-at-law, or any office or incumbrance thereto relating." In 1532, he was called to be sergeant-at-law, for which the king gave him a special discharge for taking the said degree, and having been appointed a justice of North Wales, was, in 1535, commissioned to conclude and compound all forfeitures, offences, fines, and sums of money due to the king or his father HENRY VII. In 1542, he had a patent for justice of Brecknock, Glamorgan, and Radnor, in South Wales, during life having a grant of all the manors belonging to the monastery of Westwood, in the county of Worcester, and soon after received the honour of knighthood. The many other honours conferred upon him are too numerous to be recorded here. At the time of his death, 1560, he was seised of thirty-one manors, and of other lands that he had purchased of seventy different persons, as appears by a large book concerning his estate, which was preserved amongst the family testimonials. Sir John Pakington's wife was Anne, widow of Tychbourne, and of the family of Rolle. She d. 22 Aug. 1563. His fortune was divided between his nephew Sir Thomas Pakington, his brother, Humphrey, and his daughters,

• Sir John Lyttelton (ca. 1520-15 February 1590) was a prominent landowner during the Tudor period.
• John Littleton was the son of John Littleton (c. 1500–1533) and Elizabeth, the daughter and coheir of Gilbert Talbot of Grafton.[1][2]
• Littleton was of age in 1541.[3] He was made constable of Dudley Castle and keeper of the old and new parks there in 1553. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth at Kenilworth in 1566. He was a member of the Council of Wales and the Marches, a Deputy Lieutenant and Justice of the Peace for Worcestershire.[citation needed]
• He purchased the manor of Halesowen (formerly of Halesowen Abbey) from Lord Robert Dudley afterwards Earl of Leicester in 1558.[4] He bought the manor of Hagley from John St. Leger in 1565.[5] These together with Frankley and Upper Arley (which he inherited) were the core of the family estate. Save that Upper Arley devolved away from the male line, this has remained in the hands of the family ever since, though parts were sold off in the 20th century.
• He married Bridget Pakington (b.1522), the daughter of Sir John Pakington, by whom he had a daughter, Elizabeth Littleton (1546 – 4 June 1594), who in 1564 married Sir Francis Willoughby (d. 16 November 1596) of Wollaton Hall, Nottinghamshire.[6]
