She was a homemaker and a member of Rogersville Church of Christ. She has been treasurer of the Heritage Christian University Ladies Auxiliary since 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, J.P. Hooie. She is survived by two daughters, Faye Hooie Layman of Knoxville, Tenn., and Sharon Hooie Ditto of Madison; one son, Jesse Stephen Hooie of Rogersville; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers.
