Amanda Boykin Pierce was buried at Immanuel Episcopal Church, located upriver in nearby New Castle along with two Pierce children; Henry Jackson (died March 3,1830) and Benjamin Kendrick Jr (died August 26,1831). In a letter from New Castle, Delaware from Benjamin K to his father he writes: Dear General. I expected to be moving about a long time ago (from his carriage accident in Boston where his leg was broken) but my wound heals slowly. I have lost my dear liitle son, Benjamin. He expired on the twenty sixth instant of what is called the summer complaint." Tell Harriet (his sister) that I will write a long letter as soon as I can get out."

Benjamin Kendrick Pierce, Jr. departed his young life at the age of 7 months old. He was laid to rest near his mother and older brother, Henry Jackson Pierce.
