Bassa Benson/ Ben Tzion

Bassa was born in Kovna, Lithuania during the early 1800s. Her last name was pronounced either Ben-Tzion or Benson. Her father, Rav Ben-Tzion was a Diyan and a Rosh Beis Din. When she was a child they moved to Kurland and her father took the position as Rosh Beis Din in Kurland. She married Raphael Seider in the mid 1800s. They had nine children, Gitta, Chana Leah, Bryna, Shlomo Yosef, Rivka, Alexander and two boys who died as infants. At the beginning of the twenty-first century she moved to London with her husband to be with her sons and two daughters who lived in Great Britain. She died and was buried there.
