According to various sources, Barbara's parentage is unknown.[5][2][6] The review of multiple sources did not reveal any additional information regarding Barbara Douglas or her family (see Research Notes).

Marriage

While nothing is known of Barbara's childhood or the date of her marriage to Robert Keith, it is known that the marriage produced two sons:

1. John,[5][7] who married the co-heir and sister of William de Soulis, and was deceased by 1324 and
2. Sir William, noted for opposing the peace in August of 1335 between Scotland and England.[2][8]
