Biography

August Ferdinand WESTPHAL was born on January 16, 1825 in Prussia and baptised on 27 January 1825. His father was Christian WESTPHAL.

August married Dorothea ASMUSSEN in 1853 in Prussia. Together they had the following children:

• 1854 Friedrich / Frederick;
• 1856 Hermann ;
• 1863 Charles Leo ;
• Frederica

Sometime between 1863 and 1866 August and family emigrated to Australia

After arriving in Australia August and Dorothea had the following children

• 1866 Auguste Dorothea ;

Dorothea died on 16 March 1882

He died on March 6, 1908 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
