ARTUS de Lalaing,
knight (reached this dignity towards the end of his career), seneschal of Ostrevant, lord of Hordaing, bailiff of Douai (1499-1504), married Jeanne DE HABART, died on April 1, 1521 and was buried in the church of his lordship of Brebières, under a marble placed in front of the altar of the chapel of Sainte-Aune. His widow died in December 1540.
He lived in Douai in the hotel that he had inherited from his father and that was then called the hotel of Hordaing, then the hotel of Bugnicourt. In the Douai ceremonies, he occupied the place of honor, immediately after his elder brother. He was wearing a label of three azure pendants.
He served the House of Austria, and his name, as well as that of his brother Pontus, is mentioned several times in the Chronicles of Molinet.
The will of a noblewoman who was in his service, Hulline de Manchicourt, sister of Jean, esquire, living in Gomignies, contains some information regarding Artus de Lallaing and his wife having at least ten children, three sons and seven daughters:

4° Anne de Lalaing, born around 1503, died in 1569, married to Nicolas DE LANNOY, knight, lord of Maingoval; she inherited from her brother Pontus, and her daughter brought into the family of Sainte-Aldegonde the lordships of Bugnicourt, Hordaing and other lands of the elder branch of Lalaing.
5° Bonne de Lalaing, who died in Douai in 1585, married Adam D'ESNE, esquire, sr de Bétencourt. Of which posterity.
6° Yolente de Lalaing, died in Douai, in the first days of the year 1581, lying in the choir of the church of the cordeliers or récollets wal(1) municip., reg. aux testam., 1510-1513, f° 220. ions, widow without child of Jean DE LA PORTE, esquire, sr. de Morselede; benefactress of the university and of the poor of Douai.
7° Antoinette de Lalaing, who died young, named around 1513 in the above-mentioned will of Hulline de Manchicourt, with her sisters: "To me well loved Anne and Bonne, the two golden vgnes, and to Yolen, my golden heart, and to Antoinette, my little patrenostes of coral."
8° Jacqueline de Lalaing, abbess of Flines, from 1533 to 1561, woman superior, who gave the example of all virtues
