Art Beal, Also known as Captain Nitt Witt or Der Tinkerpaw, was the quirky builder of Nitt Witt Ridge in Cambria, California, what is now California Historical Landmark 939. The odd collection of beer cans, abalone shells, and concrete have inspired admiration in some and antipathy in others who see it as an eyesore. Beal's cremains were sprinkled around a redwood on his property, what is said to be his favorite.
