About Anna Jean Yorke
Origins
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Yorke-248
Sir John Yorke of Gowthwaite (or Gouthwaite) was born about 1598 and married, firstly, Florence Sharpe of Westmoreland about 1623. They had three daughters:
- Elizabeth (married James Leslie, 3rd Lord Lindores),
- Frances (married Thomas Barney), and
- Jane (or Anna Jean) (married David Leslie, 1st Baron Newark).
Per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Newark#David_Leslie,_2nd_Lord_Ne..., Sir David Leslie had only one son, also called David. So he cannot be the father of Charles, Col James, or John Leslie. Thereafter the Newark title became extinct.

David Leslie was fifth son of Patrick Leslie, Commendator of Lindores. A Covenanter general, he was created Lord Newark on 31 August 1661, with further remainder to the heirs male of his body. He died in February 1682 and was succeeded by his son David. Along with three other daughters who died unmarried, he was also father of Elizabeth, who married Sir Archibald Kennedy, 1st Baronet, of Culzean; Mary, who married firstly Sir Francis Kinloch, 2nd Baronet, of Gilmerton, and secondly Sir Alexander Ogilvy, 1st Baronet, of Forglen; and Margaret, who married James Campbell, fourth son of Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll.
His son David was the 2nd Lord Newark. His daughter Jean Leslie (d. 1740) styled herself as 3rd "Lady Newark" i.e. a lady in her own right.[citation needed] She married Sir Alexander Anstruther of Anstruther in 1694, and their sons William and Alexander were known semi-officially as the 4th and 5th Lords Newark. His daughter Mary Leslie married Alexander Kinloch, son of Sir Francis Kinloch, 1st Baronet of Gilmerton.[7]
