Anna Raye Smith Holley, Los Angeles, California, left her earthly body to begin eternal life with her Lord and Savior on July 6, 2013. Anna was born in Gallion, Louisiana on November 9, 1932. Her unending faith in God carried her through many triumphs and trials in life, but she inspired many as she worked in the ministry with her husband in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Hawaii. Anna earned her Master's Degree in English from the University of Hawaii in 1965 and taught in public schools in Arkansas and Louisiana for 25 years. Her passion for educating children in literature, especially Shakespeare, was exceeded only by her devotion to God and family. She will be greatly missed by her two daughters, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and their families. She is survived by daughters Rebecca Ann Holley Voinche, her husband, Donald, Deborah June Holley Lewis, her husband, John, 5 grandchildren – Laura Poche', Jill Bellows, Jon Caviness, Ian Lewis and Robert Lewis, and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Mabel Hayes and Catherine Thomas, brothers Francis, Howard, Billy and Newton Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Holley, parents Newton Smith and Pauline Deville Smith, brother, Earl Smith and sister, Doylene Jones. Graveside services will be held July 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Bonne Idee Cemetery in Mer Rouge, Louisiana.
