About Ann Nash
GEDCOM Note
--Source of information: Horace WELKS HWelk32720@aol.com>;
Ann was born in England prior to 1683. Will proved 1755. She was married to John Nash, born in England. John's will dated 10/26/172 6 and proved 4/14/1727. Settled in Upper Dublin Twp. Bucks Co. Had eight children. I (Horace Welk) am assuming the first child William is the William Nash referred to by Rev. Fretz in his genealogical record of William Nash. Fretz says William emigrated to America in the early part of the eighteenth century, and settled in Bedminster Twp, Bucks Co. Pa. It appears that he was born in America the son of John Nash an d Ann Colley. I have more recently found documentation for this. See NASH 018 in Welk/Nash Doc. This document also lists Capt. Gary Nash as a passenger on Eliza & Mary the same ship which carried John Colley and his wife Susanna and daughters Ann & Susanna to Phila. I have never seen mention of his name again.
Letter from Jennie Sperling (Dec. 1996) "Dear Horace: I showed your chart to David McNeal of Warren, Pa., this fall. He pointed out a few "errors ". Ann Colley, wf of John Nash, had to be born in 1670's. Her son was b. 1696 & is the eldest and also her name appears with her parents in a 1686 deed as Ann Colley (dau) 200 acres they bought in Plymouth Twp. Wm. Nash , Jr. is probably wrong. His parent's married in 1731. Sister Magdalena was born 1732. My own notes have his birth as 1733."
