About Ann 'Nancy' Greer (Lowe)
(Edit - Find a Grave states dates as d. 13 Aug 1793. Current profile shows d. 04 Aug 1791. Find a Grave Bio below:)
OK, someone has asked that I add a NOTE that the DATE of DEATH is not a sure thing.
Please see the paragraph below.........However, Joshua DeMoss is pretty sure Ann lived until circa 1795-96,
So IF there were an "circa" box that is what I would check.
Her SIBLINGS: Sarah B: 1713
Elizabeth B: 1720
RACHEL B: 1730 married Benjamin Son #2-brother to Joseph
Mary B: 1719
William B: 1727
John B: 1728
Thomas B: 1733
Samuel B: 1739
She is 1/2 sister to Rachel Lowe. She & Joseph married 18 August 1750 in St. John's Parish. There is a Registry of it. She is named in her husband Joseph's will.
Her 2nd husband was Thomas DeMoss, no issue.
After Joseph passed away Ann Lowe-Greer married
Thomas DeMoss SR. who was married to
Abiah Beach-DeMoss, after she passed away Thomas SR.
REMARRIED--- Ann Lowe-GREER, Widow of Joseph GREER
and with her came some daughters, namely
Jemima born 1767 VA
Priscilla born circa 1760 VA
Ann born circa 1775 VA
Lize born circa 1777 VA
AND when the girls became of age 2 of them married their Step-brothers, Ann married Thomas DeMoss-1798 in Wilkes County North Carolina (marriage contract att'd)
Priscilla married William L. DeMoss
AND Jemima married Philemon Saunders (2nd cousin)
The Will of her father Joseph GREER proves not only her parents but her husband, Philemon.
Nancy (Ann) DeMoss signed the marriage contract for
Temperance Greer to marry William Hatcher
Aug. 13,1791 so we know for sure she was alive at least
late 1791. However, Joshua DeMoss is pretty sure Ann lived until circa 1795-96, when in 1796 Thomas DeMoss has signed Lize's marriage contract.
AND Lize married Caleb Heptinstall, the marriage contract is signed "Thomas DeMoss, Guardian"
As per "Winfield's Marriage Records of Virginia", pg 113 "Caleb Heptinstall married Lize Greer,
on 7 Nov. 1796,
signed, by "sur. Thomas DeMoss, g." (Guardian)
SO THIS Marriage Contract proves that the
Thomas DeMoss, Guardian of the Ann Lowe-Greer DeMoss children was in deed still alive in 1796.
He would be 70 years of age and still living in Virginia.

And there are sources that say she moved with her husband Thomas DeMoss to Wilkes, N. Carolina..
But as of the marriage of the daughter, Lize that took place 1796 in Virginia and signed by her Guardian, Thomas DeMoss, husband of Lize' mother.
