  • The “Lady McNaughton” arrived Sydney 26 Feb 1837 with a newspaper report of the day indicating that the ship had suffered badly from “Typhus Fever “ during the journey where in excess of fifty women succumbed to the Fever and their remains buried at sea. Upon reaching our shores a further ninety were ill with all being placed into a quarantine position.. (Sydney Moniter 27 Feb 1837 p2)
