Family
It is well documented that Thomas Burchfield of Maryland married Mary Wilson, and that they were the parents of Robert Burchfield, Sr., 1710- 1783. Robert Burchfield, Sr., married Ann Clark, and they were the parents of four sons, Nathan, Thomas, Robert Jr, and Meshack. After Ann died, Robert Sr. married Elizabeth Justice and they had a son John (and other children). Robert Burchfield, Sr. and his sons moved to North Carolina. Robert Burchfield, Sr., was killed by Indians.The Revolutionary War services of Robert Jr. and Meshack Burchfield are well-documented. Robert Jr. later moved to Indiana, as did his half-brother, John. Meshack eventually moved to Missouri.
