About Ann Ashton
Biography
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Wickliffe-2
All of these circumstances together support that Ann Wickliffe is highly likely, and as much as can ever be ascertained, the daughter of David II Wickliffe.
Ann Wickliffe married Captain John Washington (son of Colonel John Washington, the immigrant) about 1690. [12] After John Washington II's death (between 11 Mar 1697/8 when his will was signed, and 10 Apr 1698 when it was proved)[13] , Ann married Colonel Charles Ashton. She is said to have died about 1704.[14]
Children
- Nathaniel Washington (abt 1691-1718) Married Mary Dade.
- Lawrence Washington (abt 1692-1740)

Ann Wickliffe is the grand-aunt of George Washington, the first president of the United States. Ann married John Washington Jr, George Washington's grand uncle. John Jr and Ann Wickliffe are both buried in the same common grave.
