Amy Coney Barrett (born 1972) was sworn in as a justice of the United States Supreme Court on 27 October 2020, filling the seat left vacant by the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Barrett had been a United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She was previously a professor of law at Notre Dame Law School and the John M. Olin Fellow in Law at George Washington University Law School.
