Judge B.S. Head received a telegram from Glasgow this morning which announced the death of Mrs. Amanda Garth yesterday. The deceased was 88 years of age and was the widow of the late Dabney C. Garth. Mrs. Garth was one of the oldest settlers, having come here in 1831, but she and her husband removed to Glasgow just after the close of the war. She is an aunt of Judge Head of this city and is the last survivor of the generation. The remains will be taken to St. Louis and the body will be laid to rest beside her husband.
