LEDYARD - Althea Louise Horn Main, 88 of Ledyard, CT died peacefully on June 10, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 23, 1923 in Clairmont Springs, AL, the daughter of Edgar Simeon Horn and Lessie Eunice Todd Horn.
Mrs. Main is predeceased by her husband, Raymond Gay Main. They were married for 65 years. Mrs. Main is survived by two sons, Donald A. Main of Groton, CT and Dennis S. Main of Bozrah, CT, three daughters; Joyce F. Bergeson of Groton, CT, Jan Roberta of Norwich, CT, and Melissa A. Wangsgard of Springfield, VA; thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister; Lera Fay Horn Holland of Glencoe, AL, and a brother; Boyden D. Horn of Clairmont Springs, AL. She is predeceased by her husband, her parents, and a brother; Howard Horn of Destin, FL. Mrs. Main was a member of Ledyard Congregational Church for over 50 years.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 6 - 8:00pm at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 9:00am at the Ledyard Congregational Church in Ledyard immediately followed by procession to Avery Stoddard Cemetery. A luncheon at the church will follow.
