Alma May (Baker) Hudspeth was born on May 7, 1894 in Tennessee, the daughter of William Calvin Baker (1856–1938) and Sophie Frances (Mullins) Baker (1853–1913).

She was married as the 1st wife of William Pierce Hudspeth (1895–1972) on January 14, 1915 in Robertson County, Tennessee, and he was the son of Jesse Burr Hudspeth and Joe Ella (Briggs) Hudspeth.

Living at 123 Fairway Drive in rural Donelson, Davidson County,Tennessee, Alma was 68 years old and married when she died - cause unknown - on September 19, 1962 at Nashville General Hospital, where she had been for nine hours.

Survivors included her husband William in Donelson, daughters Miss Ella Frances Hudspeth of Atlanta, Georgia, Mrs Donald F Behm of Smithville, Tennessee and Mrs Douglas Bradley of Madison, Tennessee, brothers L Cleveland Baker of Springfield, Tennessee and Frank Baker of Nashville and six grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held on September 21st at Lockland Baptist Church, and burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
