Alexander Poe

"son of Sarah and David Poe, was of Dring, Parish of Kildallon, County of Cavan, Ireland. He emigrated to America prior to 1739 and before the death of his father in 1742 and was an early settler on the Manor of Masque in what is now Adam County, Pennsylvania, his claim for his land dating back to April 1739. Under his father's will, he was to receive 5 pounds sterling if he returned to Ireland within six years, but he remained on his Pennsylvania farm until his death, about 1787. His will was proved in York County, Pennsylvania on March 24, 1788, and that of his wife, Margaret, on January 28, 1789. After the death of Alexander's father David in 1749, his brother John came over from Ireland to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. It is probable that he spent some time on his brother Alexander's farm in the Manor of Masque. John later moved to Maryland.

Alexander Poe married Margaret, and they had issue, namely:
