Albert was the second son, and also the sixth and youngest child of Sigismund I , king of Polish and Lithuanian Grand Duke, and his second wife, Bona Sforza , Princess of Milan. He received the name of Albert [2] (polonized form of the name Albert ), presumably in honor of his uncle - the Polish King John I Albert . Some studies report that the prince received the names of Olbracht (Albert) Wojciech [3] .
