About Adam Kuykendall
Upon Santa Anna's invastion of the state in 1836, the families of the Colonies fled before the invading army. At the time there were freshets in all the streams of the state, in consequence of unusually heavy rains. The bottoms were submerged. Adam Kuykendall was walking through the overflowed bottom, when an alligator attacked him. He was never seen afterwards.
