Abraham Metz had two wives named Esther. One of these was Esther (maiden name unknown) married Joseph Cassel who died in 1783. The widow Esther (_____) Cassel then married Abraham Metz (1755-1843).

Esther and Joseph Cassel's daughter named Esther (1778-1838) married Abraham Reist (1770-1852). So Abraham Reist (1770-1852) was the step son-in-law of Abraham Metz.
If the widow Esther Cassel were the second wife of Abraham Metz AND she had a 12 year old daughter in 1783, she could hardly have been born in 1763. But she could have been born in 1751. So the best candidate for the Cassel widow is Abraham Metz's first wife.
