Dr. Ramires, a famous doctor, married Maria Da Fonseca, daughter of Dr. Lopo da Fonseca, physician to Queen Catherine (wife of King João III (1502-1557) of Portugal).
His sister-in-law Genebra da Fonseca was bumed at the stake for the crime of judaizing.
Of this marriage there were eight Daughters and three sons.
One of the boys died at an early age.
The other two sons: Jacob Curiel alias Duarte Nunes Da Costa, and David Curiel alias Lopo Ramirez, are the ancestors of the Curiels of Hamburg, Amsterdam, Jamaica, Surinam, Florence, Curaçao, etc.
