Abigail Turney was the daughter of Thomas Turney and Abigail Welles of Fairfield Connecticut[1]
She married Nathaniel Whitehead, Jr, the son of Nathaniel Whitehead and his first wife, Elizabeth Bulkley of Fairfield Connecticut[1] [2], and their children included[3] [4]:
- Elizabeth[1], born about 1738, who married James Bulkley April 8, 1756, and who died June 27, 1809[2]
- Reuben[1] [3], who married Elizabeth Jennings May 10, 1764, and then married Eunice (Beardsley) Jackson, daughter of Samuel Beardsley and widow of Aaron Jackson[2]
- Benjamin[1] [3]a loyalist, who "went over to the enemy". In October, 1780, his wife and one child (presumably Lyman) were allowed to go to Long Island[2]a loyalist, who "went over to the enemy". Abigail died before her father, who mentioned her children in his will, dated April 9, 1756[1]. Her estate passed probate on June 6, 1756, when husband was appointed guardian to their minor children[3] [4].
