Notes

From http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=sanford-s...

Torrey identifies Mary Drake as Seth Shove's first wife and says of her "living 1 May 1699?" Torrey also says Seth's second marriage occurred "b. 1695?" However, Abigail Bushnell was under 18 at the time of her father's death and she chose Thomas Taylor for her guardian October 1697. Therefore Seth's marriage to Abigail must have occurred after October 1697, and perhaps after 1 May 1699. This would also mean that daughter Mary was probably the child of his first wife Mary Drake.

Rev. Shove spent five years at Silsbury, and was appointed the first minister at Danbury Connecticut in 1696.
The inventory of the estate of "the late Revd Mr. Seth Shove of Danbury" was presented 10 December 1735. It mentions Madam Abigail Shove, wid. Hannah Starr, Lydia Boughton, and Mary Shove, minor. It concludes with the amounts which his daughters "Mary Minor hath had ... and Hannah Starr ... and Lydia Bouton...." (Fairfield PR 8:348-350).

He was buried in the old Wooster Street Cemetery, the first cemetery in Danbury.
