There is confusion over 2 women, Abigail Alling, daughter of John Alling, b. New Haven, 23 Nov 1673 and Abigail Spinning, daughter of Humphrey Spinning who mentions Abigail in his will. Abigail Alling would be too young to give birth to the children of John Ross.

Notes for ABIGAIL: From the book "The Ross Family of New Jersey" by Robert L. Ross, p 2:

Abigail was said by some to be a daughter of Humphrey Spinning [LDBS-Y9Z](a daughter Abigail Spinning [LCXJ-896] was mentioned in his will) and by others to be [Abigail Alling (MSFV-72Z)] a daughter of Judge John Alling (LCTF-1BV).

Married first John Ross. Widowed abt. 1702. Then married his younger brother Daniel Ross. In 12-5-1705 Daniel executed a release, under the terms of John's Will of Abigail's inheritance to her eight children, namely, John, George, Abigail, Sarah, Nathaniel, James, Joseph and Benjamin.

Abigail made her will 3-25-1718 and mentioned "my son John being as is grudgedly supposed already dead", John born about 1683 and supposed to have gone to sea and died ;prior to 1718. "son George and daughters Abigail Miller and Sara Kingsland have had their share" and "Homestead to remaining four children".
