About Abigail Prather Clark
Abigail Prather Churchill was the daughter of Samuel Churchill and wife Abigail Pope Oldham. She was born March 19, 1817 at Spring Grove, Jefferson County, Kentucky. She met Meriwether Lewis Clark while he was on assignment at Louisville, Kentucky. They married at Spring Grove on January 9, 1834. Abigail died on January 14, 1852, in St. Louis, Missouri. She is buried at Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis.

- William Hancock Clark
- Samuel Churchill Clark (1842-1862), known as Churchill, enlisted in Confederate army and died at the Battle of Pea Ridge, Elkhorn, Arkansas. Did not marry and left no heirs.
- Mary Eliza Clark (1845-1847), buried in the family plot at Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis
- Meriwether Lewis Clark, Jr. (1846-1899), known as Lutie, is best known as the creator of Churchill Downs and modern thoroughbred horse racing. Married twice, three children. Died of self-inflicted gunshot wound.
- John O'Fallon Clark (1848-1863)
