Disputed origins

Is Mary Gorges the mother of Andrew Newcomb? The Mother of Andrew was unknown at time the book by B M Newcomb was published. What information has been made available to sort out the spouses and children of Mary Gorges?

As far as I can tell, she was not. According to "The Story of a Family through Eleven Centuries, Illustrated by Portraits and Pedigrees: Being a History of the Family of Gorges" pg. 149 she was never married and died of smallpox in England. Could someone please tell me where this info is coming from?
