Alot of names were butcher here in USA because of the enumerators - some could only spell phonically.
As far as the Leigh lineage - this line is pretty precise through the Crown and Parliment - that is the Burke's Peerage - the records from and approved by the Crown for hundreds+ years - the confusion comes from bad references or not following the correct lines - or just not being able to read the old school genealogy records.
