Hi Erica:

Finally in a place where there is WiFi in Mendoza, Argentina (visa run).

Looked over the Ellis profile. It would be a good match date-wise for being our eldest Ellis' father (who was from Wales), but the Lieutenant appears to be a different family.

@Cadwalader Ellis, Sr.

So much for tagging...

Profile is at:
Cadwalader Ellis, Sr.

OK, but if I go downstream from Cadwalader Ellis (what a great name), I hit Robert Ellis, Jr. , father in law of your aforementioned Sally Dehaven Sarah Ellis -- and we're in Sumner County, Tennessee, which is getting into Howton stomping grounds.

Backtracking Dehaven's, I find Anneken Margaretha de Haven , who I presume is Dutch. To be honest, Dutch and Welsh makes more sense to me than the Hugenot idea.

You have a lovely tree, rich in detail, and with much food for thought. I hope you don't mind if I bookmark it to study more.

Don't mind at all... of course, I did it up for my 18-month-old daughter, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind sharing. :) And always looking for more details on the "old dead relatives".

Lieutenant John Ellis of Barnstable is my 6th Great Grandfather.
