For tracing male descendants and female descendants, I recommend HistoryLink: http://historylink.herokuapp.com/graph - change focus to the one you want to trace descendants of, change "ancestors" to "descendants", and "All" to "Y-DNA or "mtDNA".

Then nice thing with a site with an API like Geni's is that you don't have to wait for Geni to implement everything you want.
(path search is probably hard to do through the API, though)

I am also experiencing issues with the relationship finder. I've found that on several occasions it shows a convoluted path when a much simpler one is available.

For example, my aunt's niece:

Now, you'd think her daughter would follow the same path, being my aunt's great niece but it is not so. Instead, she is shown as a relation to *another* aunt of mine (these aunts are sisters-in-law) in a very convoluted way (cousin thrice removed)

Walking the path did nothing to change it. It would be wonderful if Geni could implement a multi-relationship calculator, allowing you to see all the possible ways you are connected and perhaps choose the closest two to display.

I think somebody needs to run the Zombie Killer routine on Mihkel Runthal (kutsar) - Zombie(?) parents and other relatives here & there.

If that doesn't do it, it's time for a Help Ticket.

We have some which deliberately have made those profiles private.

I hope I'm in the right place, otherwise please forgive me...

I need assistance regarding Anna Elizabeth Maria Johanna Joubert. When I created the profile a few years back, I assigned parents ( Josua Stephanus Joubert and Anna Susanna Pepler ) based on impartial and faulty family information and guesses.

I have now found out from published sources that the actual parents are Daniel Hermanus Joubert, b8c1d8e1f2 and Magdalena Elizabeth Joubert, b8c4d5e6. I attempted to correct the tree by a merge, but find myself unable to assign the right parents, as it would split the tree. Could someone with the right permissions fix this mess? That would be very helpful. If you need any more information or actions from me, please let me know.
