The profiles that you are trying to merge here e.g. http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000027671203095?fsession_id=1... are from an abandoned tree created by Allison Pawliw and abandoned it is best to cancel those requests.

I am in the opinion that the curator and concerned parties can go through current managed profiles with the abandoned ones because there are connections which are not covered in active profiles which may be beneficial for the profiles to be connected. It helps reduces duplicates and can connect unknown family members.

My personal view

I have canceled requests for merges to abandoned separate tree, but yes, I will review to add public information.

I would not cancel merge requests, hopefully sometime Geni will allow them.
