This is a stack of 60 or so merges but several of them are incorrect. It is so confusing in that area. The main is Daniel B Williams.

Someone is going to need to sort it out. I am totally unqualified. I was just going through my list of managed profiles and one of them is in the stack (not merged yet) I am having difficulties even getting to it.
It seems she is confused with someone of a similar name of Hainault? or maybe not. But there are a lot of "cannot merge with own ancestor messages"
I unmerged a couple of obvious incorrect did not merge any but still didn't quite find my own. But it is rather late here and I am a bit too tired to figure it out. Even when I am on top of the game I'm too chicken to mess with profiles like this.
Perhaps if the main profile was edited very clearly on who her parents, spouse and child(ren) are. Maybe even in the display name?
repost of the second stack

Thanks!
What does a * mean??
In a lot of profiles I have seen a * after the name f.eks:
Henri* I Capet de France: Henry I, king of France
Several of us use * in the first name field to indicate which profile we maintain as main profiles in the tree during merges.
The criteria is often that this is the primary manager is an active manager and that the profile have been through several merge processes and the data is controlled and maintained.
In the merge window this is the only way we can recognize the main lines.
The * is usually removed when the merges are complete.
"Several of us use" Ok but don't you think "you" should public that, in one way or another!!;-))
I think it a very good idea, but haven’t heard it before.
By the way don't you think it could be god to have a new "names" discussion it is long time ago, and I think many hasen’t even heard of Terjes fine suggestion. I myself have started using “about me” for many links, as fx: Christian X, King of Denmark and Iceland
I think especially in the "historial royal parts" it would be fine if we agree how to make a profile, I fx always try to give profiles their original names and titles, in their own lan-guage but I experience that fx "Konge af Danmark" is changed to "King of Denmark".
Thus - what to do, there is plenty of work to be done, we don't need to use the time correcting each other.
No doubt it “hard work” to find a common way of doing things, but I think we must try to find a way
