In the back of the page of The Scots Peerage, there is a mention that there appears to be no descendants of him. This is the probability of this being written... At the time that The Scots Peerage was compiled, Robert Hamilton of Allanshaw was possibly a small child, and they had no details of him.
The fact is, he does have descendants, through birth/baptism, marriage records etc.,(some of which I have purchased from SP). To have a Title from a family member tells you where the title originated from. Their title came from Robert (Hamilton) Hamilton of Allanshaw.
