We need some cleanup in this section of the Chapin tree.
In Howard Millar Chapin, "The English Ancestry of Dea. Samuel Chapin of Springfield, Mass.", The New England Historical and Genealogical Register 83 (July 1929), the author lists Roger Chapyn, of Totnes as the earliest known Chapin in this lineage. The name of his widow, N.N. is unknown.
The parents of Roger Chapyn, of Totnes currently attached on Geni, Roger Chapin and Anne Chapin list no sources or evidence for their existence.
Since I am not aware of any substantial research into the origins of Deac. Samuel Chapin since the publication of that NEGHS article, I have detached Roger Sr. and Anne Chapin as parents of Roger Chapin and marked them as fictitious.
If you have evidence for their existence, please bring it forward and we can adjust the tree accordingly.
