Wow, 5 husbands! Can't wait to see what she was up to! Looks like my 29th great Grandmother was having a lot more fun than I! Any information on her? Thanks, cuz'! Ciao! @Adélaïde d'Anjou, Reine de France!

Marriages were arranged, and husband-less young girls had no say in who they married.
Husbands were likely to be much older, which is why she outlived them. Many women died in childbirth. Their often elderly husbands quickly replaced them, as women were meant to give a man more property, and children.
When one husband died, she would have been turned over to another. Then another. Then another.
She gave birth to eight children who survived birth, probably several more who didn't.
She was almost certainly only free to make her own decisions after her last husband died, and she was a matron.
Does that really sound like fun?
