Hello:
My first request to make MPs; if I'm doing something wrong, please let me know.
These are German profiles for Lutheran ministers of the 16th and 17th century, so may need a German curator to review.
Vitus Buscher - notable, has German Wikipedia article, though the dates in the article are slightly different (there are two transcriptions of his now-lost epitaph; the Wikipedia article considers only one of the two transcriptions, while I consider the other one better supported). Note that this person is supposed to have had 12 children, though only 2 have been identified here so far.
Anton Buscher - son of the above, fairly important in the Lutheran hierarchy of the county of Oldenburg in the early 17th century, though without his own German Wikipedia article.
Both of these persons have seen very little activity on Geni (the son was not on Geni at all before I created him), so little danger of conflation.
Thanks!
The curator is no longer on Geni and his profile is managed by others. This MP'd profile needs a curator, please: James Crowe
Re: https://www.geni.com/discussions/272715?msg=1675491 - That Curator was Jonathan Wolfson.
And I am sort of surprised to see there are still profiles he is still listed as Curator of that have not been assigned to others.
It has been a long time now since he has had an account. At least since Aug 31, 2020 when he was removed as a Manager of a Profile we co-managed, followed by a series of adding and removing of managers.
Would majorly like to know more details about his departure - publicly or in a PM.
Private User - I’ll rely on your German language skills if it arises as an issue. Curated Vitus Buscher & Anton Buscher as requested at message https://www.geni.com/discussions/272715?msg=1674741
Is prominence a requirement for being mastered?
I've been treating mastering as good for several issues:
- prominence
- preventing merges from different individuals
- a key person who's life story has been hard-won, so the profile represents an important person genealogically (lots of descendants) containing a lot of genealogical work not easily reproduced, e.g. a key immigrant or a person who the literature and records are confused about
I ask because I requested mastering of two such profiles on 1/3/2024 that have not been acted upon. Are there problems with these two that I should know about?
Karl David Wright - holiday slowdown. Repost the links; you know I’d tell you if I want more from the profile.
Aaron Furtado Baldwin, UE9006698 & Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 - done.
Reminders:
I have another relative that I think should be mastered:
Admiral Alexander Montgomery Thackara
and his wife too
She's the daughter of General William Tecumseh Sherman. He was a diplomat stationed in Berlin after WWI. Quite the power couple; written up in all the gossip papers in Washington.
I'll be working on their "About" pages over the next few days to figure out if they really had both a daughter Helen and a daughter Eleanor. ;-)
